Cultural Retreat - Hampi

Hampi was one of the richest and largest cities in the world during its prime. It is located within the ruins of the Vijayanagara Empire. Hampi continues to be an important religious centre, housing the Virupaksha Temple and several other monuments belonging to the old city. Hampi has various notable Hindu temples with some vedanta mythology inside the temples, some of which are still active places of worship. The serene position next to the river and the magical atmosphere that surrounds the temples and ruins, makes Hampi one of the most fascinating historical sites of India.

Hampi’s ruins:

For those who don’t know, Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It comes with high historical value and is regarded as India’s Pompeii. Hampi is also the safest place for women who travel alone. You should be able to see the numerous ancient Hindu temple ruins and a regal structure from the Vijayanagara dynasty, which existed around 1500 CE.
