Meghalaya, also known as "the place where the cloud inhabits," is a mysterious location where you can move through the clouds. Shillong, often known as Scotland of the East, is one of East India's most picturesque hill stations and the state capital of Meghalaya.

Your favorite hill station tales will come to mind as you travel among lovely pine trees and take in the wind whistles.

You'll feel as though you're in the far western territories of Scotland and England thanks to Meghalaya's rainbows and regular sprinkles of rain. Don't wait too long to visit and take in Meghalaya's breathtaking scenery.

Day 1

Guwahati Airport / Rly Station – Shillong (100 km / 03 hrs.)

When you arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, one of our representatives will pick you up and take you the 3 hours to Shillong (4,900 ft.) Shillong is referred to be the "Scotland of the East."

Visit Umium Lake, a magnificent, calm lake with sylvan hills surrounding it, en way. Check into your hotel as soon as you arrive in Shillong, then take some time to relax. Shillong overnight stay.

Excursion to Cherrapunjee (60 km / 2 hrs. One Way).

Drive to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on earth (4,400 feet), after an early breakfast. You will view Nohkalikai, a stunning waterfall. The tallest plunge waterfall in India is the Nohkalikai Falls, which is also one of the wettest areas on the planet.

The Mawsmai caverns are another option for exploration. A magnificent limestone cave called Mawsmai Cave may be discovered close to Cherrapunji. It is a small, rocky limestone cave with a dark approach point, little canopies, and usually uneven ground. Return to Shillong in the evening, stopping along the way to explore the beautiful Elephanta Falls. Shillong hotel overnight stay.

Shillong Sightseeing

It's going to be a tremendously exciting day today. After breakfast, proceed to the Don Bosco Museum in Shillong, which is a popular tourist destination and offers a view of the varied and rich cultures of the native peoples of North East India (Sunday closed).

Next, head to Ward's Lake in Shillong, which is also known as Pollock Lake or Nan Polok. It is one of the top tourist attractions in Shillong and is situated in the city's centre. Head in the direction of the Botanical Garden, which is the next stop. This botanical garden at Ward's Lake features rare orchids as well as local plants and trees.

The Lady Hydari Park will be the final destination for the day. Beautiful park right in the middle of town.The former first lady of the state and lover of nature, Lady Hydari, the wife of the governor of Assam, is responsible for the creation of Lady Hydari Park.

Young couples, as well as families, can enjoy some quality time together in this spot. After such a memorable day, return to your hotel in evening. The evening is available for personal pursuits. Stay the night in Shillong.
