After a sumptuous breakfast today, we will take you sightseeing around Jaipur. You will visit the following places: Amer Fort: Amer or Amber Fort is located about 11 kilometres out of Jaipur and was built around 1592 by Raja Man Singh and later refurbished by Raja Sawai Jai Singh. One of Jaipur's top tourist attractions, this UNESCO World Heritage site has four parts, each with separate entrances. Touring the fort, you can also ask to see the 'Jaleb Chowk', 'Sila Devi' Temple, and the famous 'Diwan-i-Aam' courtyard.
Sheesh Mahal or Hall of Victory: Sheesh Mahal, also known as the Mirror Palace, is one of the most exquisite and gorgeous pieces of architecture created from precious stones and glass and decorated with lovely handmade paintings. The legendary Bollywood song "Jab Pyar Kiya to Darna kya" from the film "Mughal-e-Azam" was shot right here with the enchanting Madhubala dancing to the song.
Maharaja's City Palace: Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, who relocated his court from Amber to Jaipur, founded The City Palace in Jaipur at the same time as the city. It served as the Maharaja of Jaipur's official residence and seat of government until 1949. Along with hosting religious and cultural events, the Palace supported the arts, business, and industry. It now serves as the residence of the Jaipur royal family and The Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum.
Ram Niwas Gardens: Built sometime in 1868 by Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh, Ram Niwas Gardens spreads across 30 acres and houses the Albert Hall or Central Museum. Here, you can explore the lush landscaped garden, check out the bird park, the zoo, Art Gallery, or visit the theatre. It is a hot picnic spot as well.
Hawa Mahal: The Hawa Mahal, built from pink and red sandstone, is situated at the edge of the Jaipur City Palace. It extends into the women’s chambers or Zenana and has about 953 windows on its walls. The beautifully carved windows and the honeycomb-shaped structure ensure continuous airflow, making it the perfect summer palace.
