Day 1

Guwahati Airport /Rly station- Bhalukpong (255 km / 6 hrs.)

Upon your arrival at Guwahati Airport/ Railway station, a representative will come to you and introduce himself. After all the formalities are done, you will be transferred to Bhalukpong. As soon as you arrive, you can check in to the hotel for your leisure time and spend the night.

Bhalukpong - Dirang(140 km/ 7hrs)

After early breakfast, you take a drive to Dirang. On the way, you visit the most ravishing Tipi Orchidarium situated on the banks of the Bharali river. Witness the variety of almost 500 orchids across the place. Then you even visit the Nag temple on the way.

As you keep driving, do not forget to keep cameras handy as you come across spectacular waterfalls.

Later, check in to the hotel and rest for a while. In the afternoon, visit Apple orchard and kiwi farms (depending upon the season), Dirang Monastery, and Kalachakra Monastery. Dirang is also famous for hot water springs where people take baths to cure skin ailments. You can rest overnight at Dirang.

Note: Every Indian tourist visiting Arunachal Pradesh has to obtain ILP (Inner Line Permit) at the Bhalukpong border before entering the state by submitting of photo identity card and 2 copies of passport-size photographs.

Dirang Sightseeing

After breakfast, get ready to head out to explore Dirang. In Dirang you will visit the Monpa tribal villages and hang around for village walks and interact with local villagers to enhance your experience. You now proceed to Sangti Valley, situated along the shores of the Sangti river, 25 km from Bomdila.

The Sangti Valley is one of the seasonal homes of the majestic creature called the black-necked crane. Later in the afternoon, you get to visit The National Research Centre on Yak, located above the main town. The centre also has a yak firm at Nyukmandung about 31 km from Dirang. You can also visit Apple orchard & Kiwi Farm (depending upon season), Li-ung Gonpa and Kalachakra Monastery right into its laps.

Dirang is also famous for hot water springs where people take baths to cure skin ailments. Relax and have fun in hot water springs and then rest overnight in Dirang.

Dirang - Tawang (130 kms/7 hrs.)

Today after breakfast you will visit the Land of hidden paradise - Tawang. On the way, you can enjoy the beauty of  Sela Pass (13700 ft) a borderline between two districts i.e Tawang and west Kameng Tawang. Sela lake is a small lake, which remains frozen for most of the year.

Furthermore, after driving for about 10kms you can visit Jaswant Garh War Memorial. Later, you visit the gorgeous Nuranng falls where the scenes from the "koyla" film starring Madhuri Dixit and Shahrukh Khan were shot. After, this long tiring day, you drive back to the hotel in Tawang and rest overnight.

Tawang local sightseeing

Today after refreshing breakfast get ready for sightseeing in Tawang. The first spot you visit will be the world-famous Tawang Monastery, built in the 17th century. It is also known as Golden Namgyal Lhatse which overlooks the wide Tawang valley at a height of 10,000 ft.

The Monastery is a vast complex of 65 buildings housing Lamas and filled with antique scriptures. It also has an 8 Mars Buddha statue. It is the largest monastery in the Himalayan region and the second largest in Asia.

The next marvellous spot is Urgeling Gompa. Inside this Monastery, there are several stupas (vihar) and people from all over the world visit this place during the Buddhist New Year to take the blessings. You can further proceed to visit the War memorial dedicated to the martyrs of the 1962 Sino-Indian war. It is locally called "Namgyal Chotran", which is built 40 feet high like a stupa in design. The names of 2420 martyrs are imprinted in gold on 32 black granite plagues.

You can also visit the craft centre in Tawang which sells the most beautiful pieces like masks, hand-woven carpets, and silver pieces of jewelers, chubas and so much more.

However, after this tiring yet fun day, you can rest overnight in Tawang.

Tawang local sightseeing - High-altitude lakes and Bumla Pass

Today is an exciting day. After breakfast, you will drive to visit the high-altitude lake called Shonga-tser lake, popularly known as the Madhuri Lake. The drive to this lake is full of thrill and on the way, you can even see the War bankers that had been used during the Chinese aggression in 1962. Nestled amongst the pristine mountains and picturesque surroundings was formed after an earthquake in 1950, before which it was just a piece of land used for cattle.

Tourists can even relish the delicious momos, Maggie and cups of tea and coffee in that beautiful surroundings. This cafeteria nearby has been arranged by the Army men under their supervision.

Later, you can drive even further to the Bumla Pass which is located about 37 km away from Tawang. Meanwhile, when you return take a photo stop at the beautiful PTSO lake en route which is an extremely scenic drive with a bird's eye view of the township. It is almost evening until you drive back. You can chill and rest overnight at the hotel.

Tawang - Bomdila (170 km/ 8 hrs)

Today after breakfast you get transferred back to Bomdila - the headquarters of West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh. It has a lot of attractions for visitors in its cool climate. After you arrive you can check in to the hotel.

Later, you may proceed to visit a few places like Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery (upper Gonpa), and Thub-Chog Gatsel Ling Monastery (lower). This place also offers amazing panoramic views of Himalayan landscapes and snow-clad ranges. If time permits you can even visit the local markets and then stay overnight at the Bomdila hotel.

Bomdila - Kaziranga (210 km / 8 hrs)

Today will be your transfer to Kaziranga. After breakfast, you may leave. Upon arrival in Kaziranga, you can check in at your hotel, rest overnight and chill.

Kaziranga National Park

Get up early in the morning and head out to explore any one zone of Kaziranga National Park on an Elephant. Apart from the Rhino, other species found here are Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo, Elephants and if you are lucky then even tiger.

It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are several water bodies inside the Park. After this, you may return to the resort for breakfast. In the afternoon enjoy a jeep safari through the National Park. This will be an unforgettable experience for you.

You can return to the hotel after the Safari is over and stay overnight at Kaziranga.

Kaziranga National Park - Guwahati (220 km/ 5hrs.)

After breakfast drive back to Guwahati. Perform all the formalities after reaching the hotel and check-in. In the evening you will visit " Kalakshetra", a place where Assamese history and culture. Later, return to the hotel and spend leisure time overnight.

Guwahati Local Sightseeing

After a delicious morning breakfast head out to visit the Kamakhya temple (*Note: Timing till 8.00 am till 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm till it gets dark.) After visiting this, the checkpoint lists go on like Tirupati Balaji temple, Nakagawa temple, Assam state museum, State zoo community Botanical garden, Regional Science centre and Sukhreswar temple.

In the afternoon,  it is your personal choice to opt for the tour of the Golden sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra (direct payment by own). Finally, after this long day, you can return to the hotel and stay overnight in Guwahati.
